POSITION POSTING

The Moses Lake School District is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Student Lifeguard for the Moses Lake High School Pool.

 

 
 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Perform lifeguard duties as directed by supervisor.
  2. Ensure the safety of pool patrons by supervising the pool/facility while in use.
  3. Work mornings, evenings, and/or weekends, dependent upon pool operations and schedule. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Currently, possess, or willingness to attain, American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
  2. Currently, possess, or willingness to attain, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  3. Willingess to obtain any other certification as desired by the school district.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Respond quickly, intelligently, decisively and in accordance with established emergency and accident management procedures.
  2. Understand facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures.
  3. Identify potential accident and/or hazards. Fully report all accidents and/or concerns involving all aspects of the facility.
  4. Be alert or prevent accidents (risk management).
  5. Monitor chemical levels and pool water for abnormalities.
  6. Enforce all pool rules in a consistent manner.

  7. Handle discipline situations with courtesy and fairness.

  8. Administer First Aid/CPR as required.

  9. Communicate with other lifeguards and supervisors.

  10. Demonstrate leadership and facilitate public relations with a positive and professional attitude, courtesy and tact.

  11. Complete appropriate reports.

  12. Attend in-service trainings

  13. Must have excellent attendance.

  14. Perform other related duties as assigned.
