Warehouse - Delivery
7.00 hours per day 187 days per year
Shift time: Monday - Friday: 6:00 am - 1:30 pm
Shift time is subject to change depending upon building needs.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely distribution of educational supplies, materials, food, and equipment to various schools within the district. The driver is responsible for safely operating a delivery vehicle, loading and unloading cargo, and maintaining accurate delivery records. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to delivering educational resources on time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to work in freezer and cooler units, and stock shelves.
- Must be able to lift and move items that weigh 50 lbs.
- Must be able to drive delivery vehicles.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have excellent attendance.
- Must have or obtain forklift certification
- Must be able to work a varied schedule depending upon food deliveries.
- Ability to work independently and with other team members.
- Ability to work well under stress in a positive manner, excellent customer service required.
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide excellent customer service to school personnel and district staff.
- Work seamlessly with other warehouse and MLSD staff to promote a cooperative and efficient work environment, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and timely completion of tasks.
- Operate a delivery vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Plan the most efficient delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution.
- Operate forklift.
- Deliver food goods.
- Deliver school mail.
- Delivery of Food Service, Office and Custodial supplies.
- Pick up items being returned.
- Report delivery vehicle issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure district vehicles and equipment are maintained and in safe working order.
- Clean warehouse as needed ie pallets removed from refrigerator, freezer and dry good storage areas sweep and scrub concrete.
- Assume Warehouse Assistant responsibilities when they are absent.
- Other duties as assigned.
