QUALIFICATIONS:
- CTE coaching and mentoring experience required.
- Knowledge of FFA and/or Skills USA equivalent student extra-curricular programs.
- Must be CTE certified or eligible for CTE certification and obtain credentials within 2 years: Agriculture, Metals, and Construction.
- Must be First Aid and CPR certified.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.
- ELL preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work with Core Plus Curriculum. Ability to teach Agriculture-related classes and potentially Material Science.
DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES:
- Effectively communicate with students, staff, parents, and community in English, both orally and in writing.
- Have a positive attitude and work cooperatively with others in a team approach to planning and working with site-based decisions and management operations.
- Proficient in the workings of FFA and/or SkillsUSA and related events.
- Possess excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Be a team player with strong leadership ability.
- Ability to operate and care for Agricultural equipment and ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Provide for the care and protection of school property.
- Use relevant technology to support instruction.
- Must be able to supervise an assistant.
- Demonstrate creativity in regard to program offerings.
- Manage student behavior and maintain discipline by establishing classroom rules and procedures and enforcing classroom, school, and district rules and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to participation and learning.
- Prepare for CTE SkillsUSA events for Vanugard as needed.
- Ability to work with high school students on a one-on-one basis.
- Follow proper handling, safety and inspection of equipment in accordance with State and Department standards.
- Keep facility neat, clean and presentable to the public.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and reporting all problems to appropriate department in a timely manner.
- Keep current with industry standards and work with local employers.
- Maintain accurate inventories and tracking of equipment and supplies.
- Be able to transport students on field trips and/or to competitions.
- Other duties as assigned.
